Crisis Text Line

Summary

Crisis Text Line Crisis Text Line (CTL) provides free 24/7 support for those in crisis by training young adults as Crisis Counselors who use text messages to communicate readily to those in distress. Professor Elizabeth Linos, a faculty affiliate for the Institute for Young Americans, is collaborating with CTL to better understand how we can support their 4,500 Crisis Counselors in serving those in need. Linos will also measure how volunteering as a Crisis Counselor changes perceptions about government investments in mental health services.
